Apprenticeship as a tax assistant (m/f/3rd gender)
The focus of the job of a tax assistant lies on processing the financial accounting, preparing tax returns, cash books, income statements, financial statements and offering tax advice to our clients.
Prerequisites
- “Abitur” or a good grade in a Realschule graduation followed by studies at a high school focusing on business (“Wirtschaftsschule”)
- Interest in business and tax issues
- Enjoys meeting people and is willing to work in a team

Apprenticeship in office management (m/f/3rd gender)
An apprenticeship in office management provides you with hands-on experience in the areas of secretarial work, marketing, internal accounting, business consulting, human resources and reception.
We offer you the following electives:
contract management and coordination, business management and controls, commercial processes, human resources management, assistance and secretarial tasks, marketing and distribution
Prerequisites
- good grades in a Realschule graduation
- Interest in organizational tasks
- Fun in dealing with people and the willingness to work in a team

3 years (possibly less, depending on performance)
Salary
1st year: € 850 / 2nd year: € 900 / 3rd year: € 1,000
Dual track study in commerce, majoring in tax and internal/external auditing or tax and external auditing (m/f/3rd gender)
A dual track course of study combines theory and practice by alternating between university studies and Gehrke Econ on a quarterly basis. Your assignments to the different teams varies depending on your elected major and your plans for employment after completing your studies.
We cooperate with the FHDW Hanover in business studies, tax and internal auditing and with the University of Weserbergland in Hamelin for studies in business majoring in tax and auditing.
Prerequisite
- “Allgemeine Hochschulreife” or “Fachhochschulreife”
- an interest in business
- good to excellent English language skills
- a completed apprenticeship as a tax assistant is desirable
Study
- Duration: 6 semesters
- Gehrke Econ pays all study fees
- Graduation: Bachelor of Arts (B. A.)
Practical sessions at Gehrke Econ
Steuerberatung
- Assisting with financial accounting/bookkeeping
- Preparatory work to compile financial statements and cash book accounting
- Preparatory work for tax returns for companies and private individuals
- Processing day-to-day tax queries from our clients
Auditing
- Assisting with external audits of separate and consolidated financial statements prepared in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
- Assisting with expert reports on accounting and valuation issues
Business consulting
- Support with project work
- Assisting with budget calculations, cost calculations and reporting
- Preparatory work for drawing up restructuring plans
- Drawing up presentations as part of market research
Internship / study assistant in tax advisory, auditing, legal advisory or business consulting (m/f/3rd gender)
Gehrke Econ offers you the opportunity of a varied and attractive internship in the fields of tax advisory, auditing or business consulting An internship generally lasts between six weeks and five months.
Students studying business, economics or law are particularly welcome. In addition, Gehrke Econ will be happy to assist in preparing your bachelors, masters or diploma thesis and processing the relevant practical topics.
